Chartering
Chartering and the transaction behind it
Prime Oceans advises on chartering both as a standalone mandate and as part of a wider vessel acquisition, financing or newbuilding transaction.
In many transactions, the employment structure is what makes the acquisition possible. Charter duration, counterparty standing, hire security and the underlying contractual structure can determine what a lender or investor will finance and on what terms.
Where those elements are connected, Prime Oceans approaches the employment, financing and acquisition as one transaction rather than as separate workstreams.
Special Situations
When there is no obvious answer
Where a transaction or project has stalled — a troubled newbuilding, a detained vessel, a deadlocked joint venture, a defaulting counterparty or simply a structure that is no longer working — Prime Oceans can be engaged to assess the situation as a whole and establish a practical route forward.
Where necessary, we challenge the existing approach, restructure the transaction or project, coordinate the required expertise and remain involved through implementation.
In selected circumstances, and where it supports the solution, Prime Oceans may also participate as principal or co-investor.
